Founded in November, 1948, Liaoning University is the
only comprehensive university in Liaoning Province with disciplines of Chinese,
history, philosophy, economics, law, science, engineering, and art. It is one
of the national “Project 211” key universities designated by the Ministry of
Education. Liaoning University offers 25 colleges/schools, 66 undergraduate
disciplines, 26 master degree programs at the first level, 164 second-level
master programs, 8 first-level PHD programs, 66 second-level PHD programs and 6
post-doctor research stations. By June 2016, the University has enrolled over
26,000 full-time students – 19,000 in undergraduate studies, about 6,600 in
post-graduate and doctoral studies, plus over 1,700 international students.
Liaoning University is located in Shenyang, Liaoning
Province, which is the central city of politics, economy and culture in
northeast China where the traffic is convenient, four seasons are quite
distinctive, and the cultural atmosphere is very strong, with a lot of places
of historic interest and scenic beauty, as well as abundant tourism resources.
Unique language environment and local customs and practices of northeast China
are quite suitable for foreign students to study and live. Liaoning University
began to receive international students from 1965, and has cultivated over
8,000 long-term and more than 4,000 short-term international students from 94
countries. The university has established three Confucius Institutes in
collaboration with Irkutsk State University of Russia, Vilnius University of
Lithuania and Dakar University of Senegal. The brand of the Confucius Institute
has spread across Asia, Europe and Africa, ushering in a new stage of
development for the educational globalization of the university. Liaoning
University is an authorized institute that receives Chinese Government
Scholarship and enrolls international students autonomously, and provides the
Confucius Institute Scholarship program granted by Hanban to international
students. It has become one of the most preferred universities among overseas
students coming to Liaoning Province.
In 2017, Confucius Institute Scholarship enrollment
already starts. As the host institution, in addition to regular enrollment of
Confucius Institute, we mainly recruit Chinese language + Homestay/visit
(Scholarship for four-week Students)、Chinese Language &
Literature、Chinese History、Chinese Philosophy etc. (Scholarship for One-semester
student or Scholarship for One-academic year student) .We will combine
short-term featured programs of Liaoning University, “Weaving your dream –
experiencing China”, a four-week Program – “Pursuing the dream – knowing China
”, a one-semester program、“Realizing your dream – perceiving China” a one year
